2012 Spalding HoopHall Classic News
2012 Spalding Hoophall Classic
The Spalding HoopHall Classic wrapped up today in Springfield, MA with four major games on ESPNU featuring some of the top players in the country.
Here are the scores:
#4 St. Anthony (NJ) 60 vs Miller Grove (GA) 48
#24 Bishop Gorman (NV) 73 vs #5 DeMatha (MD) 65
#6 Findlay Prep (NV) 75 vs #1 Simeon (IL) 50
#22 Mater Dei (CA) 88 vs Christ The King (NY) 50
Top Performances Today:
Kyle Anderson (St. Anthony, NJ) 6’9/Point Forward (UCLA)
18 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 block
Kyle started the game off a little sluggish in the first half offensively but was able to contribute in different parts of the game including on the boards and defensively. In the second half he began to showcase his full array of skills which helped lead his team to a huge victory. He is able to have a huge effect every time he steps on the floor with his versatility and basketball I.Q.
Shabazz Muhammad (Bishop Gorman, NV) 6’6/Small Forward
37 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals
Shabazz showed today why he is considered the #1 player in the class of 2012 when he displayed his full array of skills having a monster game. He started the game off quickly scoring from a number of different spots on the floor in route to 19 first half points. Shabazz is a very athletic forward who attacks the basket aggressively and has the ability to finish way above the rim with highlight dunks which he had a few of today. He had continued success in the 2nd half on the offensive end helping lead his team to a win today against a undefeated DeMatha (MD) team. Rosco Allen 6’9/Forward (Stanford) had a double double in the win adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. One thing is for sure whoever ends up landing Shabazz Muhammad will not only be getting a very talented basketball player but will also receive a very humble and well spoken young man who works extremely hard on his game.
