Austin Tilghman (St. Andrews, DE) Q&A With Premo Hoops

I recently had the chance to catch up with standout freshmen Austin Tilghman (St. Andrews, DE) we discussed why he picked St. Andrews and what goals he has set for his upcoming season. Austin is a combo guard who ranks among the best in the tri-state area for his class; he has a nice combination of size and skills that let him excel on the court. 

PHR: What schools have started to show interest in you?

AT: Honestly I just left 8th grade so no one has shown any interest yet.
PHR: What things are you looking for in a program and coach?

AT: I want a program and a coach that will continue to develop me like I know coach Terrell will do and in college I want the same things a program that supports my talents at that time.
PHR: How did you come to the decision to attend St. Andrews?

AT: My family and I chose St. Andrews because of the education I could get there not really for basketball I think the education there might get me into any college I want. Continue reading

SB: Not hearing from anyone right now.

SB: I have not compiled a list yet.
PHR: What are you looking for in a program or university?

SB: Academics first, a good relationship with the coaching staff and style of play.
PHR: Did you have a dream school or university growing up?

Antonio Depina (Polytech, DE) Q&A With Premo Hoops

I had the chance to speak with sophomore Antonio Depina (Polytech, DE) yesterday about some of his goals for his sophomore season, why he decided to transfer to Polytech and what he did this summer to improve his game. Antonio is excited for the upcoming season and is ready to prove all of his haters that they are wrong about his game.

PHR: What schools are you hearing from right now?
AD: Florida State, Oregon State, Delaware State and Towson.

PHR: Do you have a school list yet?
AD: No

PHR: What are you looking for in a program and university?
AD: I’m looking for a school that can help me make an immediate impact and grow to my full potential as a person.

PHR: What were the main factors in your transfer to Polytech?
AD: Polytech HS has an outstanding Dental program. I’ve always wanted to be a dentist since I was age 6. Going to a Vo-tech school will help me prepare for college. Continue reading

AG: Ivy League Schools, Fairfield, Bowling Green State, & a bunch of D2

AG: I have a good idea of my list of schools, but it’s still early.

AG: No.
PHR: What are you looking for in a program and university?

AG: Good coaches, and a program that fits my style of play.

I caught up with class of 2011 lead guard Joey Gripper (Abington Friends, PA) today to discuss how his recruitment is coming along also we discussed his summer on the AAU circuit plus what he is looking forward to about his senior season. Joey is one of the top players in the tri-state area who has excellent court vision to go along with his blazing speed.

JG: Harvard, George Mason, Penn, Quinnipiac, Appalachian St, Howard, UNC-Greensboro and Drexel.

PHR: Do you have a top 3 or a favorite school right now?

JG: Harvard, Quinnipiac and George Mason.
PHR: Have you taken any official or un-official visits yet?

JG: Harvard.
PHR: What are you looking for in a program and university?

JG: Just a University where they desire me, and I can grow as a player and person.

A.J. English (Appoquinimink, DE) Class of 2011 Q&A With Premo Hoops

I had the chance to catch up with standout guard A.J. English (Appoquinimink, DE) the other day and we discussed his summer on the AAU circuit, recruitment and goals for the upcoming senior season. A.J. had a very successful summer on the circuit playing for Nike Team Takeover based out of D.C. and Coach Stevens, his AAU team won inaugural Nike EYBL championship at the Nike Peach Jam event.

 PHR: What schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?

AE: It’s really the same with all my schools right now
Marquette, Virginia, Rutgers, Seton Hall, DEPAUL, UMASS, NC State, Wake Forest, UNLV, George Mason, South Alabama, Villanova, Clemson, Xavier, West Virginia and the whole A-10.
PHR: What schools are on your list right now?

AE: The schools I listed in the first question.
PHR: Do you have a top 3 or 5 right now?

AE: No I don’t have a top 3 or 5 yet.
PHR: What are you looking for in a program and university?

AE: I’m looking for a school where I step in right away and play and a school that I can help win right away.
