Andrew White is one of the fastest rising prospect in the country for the class of 2012. He has had a tremendous summer on the circuit which has really pumped up his recruitment, now hearing from a slew of high major programs.

2010 City Of Palms Classic Championship On ESPNU Tonight

The City of Palms Classic 2010 event will hold it’s championship game tonight it’s being televised live on ESPNU tonight at 9:30 pm. The championship game is St. Patrick (NJ) vs. Milton (GA).

St. Patrick (NJ) features Michael Gilchrist 6’7/F (Kentucky), Derrick Gordon 6’3/G (Western Kentucky), Austin Colbert 6’9/C (2013) and Dakari Johnson 6’9/C (2014).

Milton (GA) features Shannon Scott 6’2/G (Ohio State), Julian Royal 6’8/F (Georgia Tech), Dai-Jon Parker 6’3/G (Vanderbilt), Jordan Loyd 6’2/G (Furman), Evan Nolte 6’7/F (2012) and Shaquille Johnson 6’4/G (2012).

The 3rd place game features Winter Park (FL) vs. Mater Dei (CA) at 7:30 pm on ESPNU.

Antonio Depina (Polytech, DE) Q&A With Premo Hoops

I had the chance to speak with sophomore Antonio Depina (Polytech, DE) yesterday about some of his goals for his sophomore season, why he decided to transfer to Polytech and what he did this summer to improve his game. Antonio is excited for the upcoming season and is ready to prove all of his haters that they are wrong about his game.

PHR: What schools are you hearing from right now?
AD: Florida State, Oregon State, Delaware State and Towson.

PHR: Do you have a school list yet?
AD: No

PHR: What are you looking for in a program and university?
AD: I’m looking for a school that can help me make an immediate impact and grow to my full potential as a person.

PHR: What were the main factors in your transfer to Polytech?
AD: Polytech HS has an outstanding Dental program. I’ve always wanted to be a dentist since I was age 6. Going to a Vo-tech school will help me prepare for college. Continue reading

Deuce Bello (Westchester Country Day, NC) Q&A With Premo Hoops

I had the chance to catch up with rising star Deuce Bello (Westchester Country Day, NC) on Saturday at the Scoutsfocus Elite 80 showcase in Greensboro, NC. We spoke about his recruitment and recent trip to Louisville along with his goals for the upcoming season. Deuce is considered the #1 Dunker in high school hoops but he has worked very hard this summer to show that his game is evolving into a lot more than a rim rocking wing player.

PHR: What schools are on your list right now?

DB: Louisville, Baylor, Florida State, Maryland, Wake Forest and Marquette

PHR: Have all these schools offered?

DB: Yes all of them have offered.

PHR: How was the visit to Louisville that you and Quincy Miller went on?

A.J. English (Appoquinimink, DE) Class of 2011 Q&A With Premo Hoops

I had the chance to catch up with standout guard A.J. English (Appoquinimink, DE) the other day and we discussed his summer on the AAU circuit, recruitment and goals for the upcoming senior season. A.J. had a very successful summer on the circuit playing for Nike Team Takeover based out of D.C. and Coach Stevens, his AAU team won inaugural Nike EYBL championship at the Nike Peach Jam event.

 PHR: What schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?

AE: It’s really the same with all my schools right now
Marquette, Virginia, Rutgers, Seton Hall, DEPAUL, UMASS, NC State, Wake Forest, UNLV, George Mason, South Alabama, Villanova, Clemson, Xavier, West Virginia and the whole A-10.
PHR: What schools are on your list right now?

AE: The schools I listed in the first question.
PHR: Do you have a top 3 or 5 right now?

AE: No I don’t have a top 3 or 5 yet.
PHR: What are you looking for in a program and university?

AE: I’m looking for a school where I step in right away and play and a school that I can help win right away.

Peshon Howard (Oak Hill Academy, VA) Q&A With Premo Hoops

Peshon Howard is a guard who can play either spot on the floor who has excellent basketball I.Q. and brings a lot of poise to the floor. He has continued to excel at the powerhouse Oak Hill Academy since arriving there. He will be taking his game to College Park, MD next fall to play for coach Williams.

1. What were the deciding factors on picking Maryland?
That I get to play for a great coach that will push me and I can play in the ACC early.

Josh Hairston (Montrose Christian, MD) Q&A With Premo Hoops

Josh Hairston is one of the most versatile players in the country and he will be taking his game down to Durham, NC next fall to play for Coach K and Duke University. He is a player who contributes on the court in many different ways. He is settling in a new high school this year, having transferred into power house Montrose Christian in Maryland.

1. What were some of the deciding factors on picking Duke?

Well first of all, it’s Duke, one of the greatest and most recognized schools in the world for basketball. Along with that, it just felt like home. I felt comfortable from the moment I stepped on campus. Also location, the school is not very far from my home.
2. What other schools were in the running to land you?

Well a lot of ACC schools offered me, as well as some Big East schools. I also had some offers from schools in the mid-west, as well as some west coast schools. Continue reading
