I caught up with rising sophomore standout Shikei Blake (Howard, DE). We chatted about what he is looking for in a program and what he worked on this summer to improve his game. Shikei is ready to have a breakout season in his sophomore campaign and is looking to become a great all around player and leader for his high school.
PHR: What schools are you hearing from right now?
SB: Not hearing from anyone right now.
PHR: Do you have a school list yet?
SB: I have not compiled a list yet.
PHR: What are you looking for in a program or university?
SB: Academics first, a good relationship with the coaching staff and style of play.
PHR: Did you have a dream school or university growing up?
SB: Any school that offers me a free education. Just going to college is a dream.
PHR: What parts of your game did you work on improving this summer?
SB: I worked a lot on my left hand, Shooting, Conditioning, dribbling.
PHR: How was your summer on the AAU circuit?
SB: My summer was good. I got way better thanks to my coach Terrell Myers and the ECE staff.
PHR: How do you feel about being one of the top players in Delaware?
SB: It’s a great honor to be considered as one of the top players in Delaware but I understand that the real work starts now to keep up that rep.
PHR: What goals do you have set for the upcoming season?
SB: My goal is to be a good team player and to be an all around great teammate. A pleasure to play with and a positive attitude.
PHR: Did you attend any camps this summer?
SB: Yes, Hoop Group.
PHR: If you had to describe your game to a blind person what would you tell them?
SB: All around great player, offensively and defensively. Trustworthy, Got my teammates back. Smooth jumper. I am Aggressive. Smart basketball IQ.
