2012 Spalding Hoophall Classic

The Spalding HoopHall Classic wrapped up today in Springfield, MA with four major games on ESPNU featuring some of the top players in the country.

Top Performances Today:

Kyle Anderson (St. Anthony, NJ) 6’9/Point Forward (UCLA)

18 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 block

Kyle started the game off a little sluggish in the first half offensively but was able to contribute in different parts of the game including on the boards and defensively. In the second half he began to showcase his full array of skills which helped lead his team to a huge victory. He is able to have a huge effect every time he steps on the floor with his versatility and basketball I.Q.

Shabazz Muhammad (Bishop Gorman, NV) 6’6/Small Forward

37 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals

Shabazz showed today why he is considered the #1 player in the class of 2012 when he displayed his full array of skills having a monster game. He started the game off quickly scoring from a number of different spots on the floor in route to 19 first half points. Shabazz is a very athletic forward who attacks the basket aggressively and has the ability to finish way above the rim with highlight dunks which he had a few of today. He had continued success in the 2nd half on the offensive end helping lead his team to a win today against a undefeated DeMatha (MD) team. Rosco Allen 6’9/Forward (Stanford) had a double double in the win adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. One thing is for sure whoever ends up landing Shabazz Muhammad will not only be getting a very talented basketball player but will also receive a very humble and well spoken young man who works extremely hard on his game. Eric Laster 6’6/F (2012) (Poly-Tech, DE) – He showed an improved handle, toughness and heart. He showed an improved outside shot and ability to guard on the perimeter. This should be a big year for him as one of the top players in the state of Delaware. (MVP)

Eric Fanning 6’4/G (2012) (Wagner) – He showed impressive athleticism and nice feel for the game throughout the day. This is why he has accepted a scholarship from Wagner.

Khalid Hart 6’2/G (2012) (Sanford, DE) (1 Game) – He had a great showing, played like he was the best guard in the state. He showed the ability to control the game and find other along with a nice chance of speed when attacking.

Darren Payne 6’8/F (2012) (Hamden Hall, CT) – He showed explosiveness an athleticism all day along with being quick off the floor.

Shakir Brown 6’7/F (2012) (Patterson, MD) – He showed strong point forward skills along with playing at his own pace all day.

Ben Bentil 6’8/F (2014) (St. Andrews School, DE) – He played well late in the day, he will be a force this year as he continues to improve his skill set.

Quentin Davis 6’6/F (2014) (Mathmatics, PA) – He had on display his all around skill set showing an ability to become a division one prospect down the road.

Ajen English 6’2/G (2012) (Appoquinimink, DE) – He had some very explosive plays throughout the day and showed a continued improvement on his pg skills.

Andre Patton 6’5/F (2013) (St. Elizabeth, DE) – He played really aggressive during the day and showed an improvement on his jumper.

Justin Braddy 5’9/G (2013) (Poly-Tech, DE) – He showed an improved ability to shoot the ball along with nice ball handling skills.

Nick Lidner 5’10/G (2013) (Germantown Academy, PA) – He used his speed, strength and ball handling skills to make plays during the day. He has a chance to become one of the elite guards in the class of 2013.

Zack Walker 6’5/F (2012) (Dover High, DE) – He played strong during the day and was a rebounding machine.

Anthony Bowers 5’10/G (2012) (Hogdson, DE) – He played well throughout the day he has everything a guard needs to be good.

Issac Fleming 6’3/G (2013) (William Penn, DE) – He had an excellent showing today putting on display the ability to get in the lane and finish along with finding open teammates. He has a nice feel for the game and is continuing to improve each time out. He is one of the top guards in the state.

Andre Horne 6’3/G (2012) (Newark, DE) – He showed an improved handle along with his aggressive offensive arsenal and toughness. He is one of the top players in the state of Delaware.

Shikei Blake 6’6/F (2013) (Phelps School, PA) – He played really aggressive today and showed improvement with his conditioning along with finishing strong at the rim and contesting shots on the defensive end.

Rondae Jefferson 6’7/F (2013) (Chester, PA) (1 Game) – He is one of the top players in the country for 2013 and represented the USA as the starting SF this past summer. He came to compete today playing aggressive in the game he played, his ability to handle the ball at his size separates him from other players.

Ray Anderson 6’3/G (2012) (St.Georges, DE) – He competed and showed that he will be a force this season.

Mahir Johnson 6’2/G (2014) (Glasgow, DE) – He could be the best guard in DE in the class of 2014, he showed in improved arsenal on offense.

A.J Tilgman 5’10/G (2012) (St Georges, DE) – He played with energy all day and competed hard all day.

Aaron Clark 6’3/G (2012) (Notre Dame Prep, MA) – He shot the ball well and defended. He is looking to continue to improve on all aspects of his game at Notre Dame Prep.

Tyaire Hudson 5’11/G (2012) (Hogdson, DE) – He played hard and competed all day. He seems ready to prove to people that he belongs at the top of his class.

Donte McGill 6’2/G (2012) (St.Georges, DE) – He attacked on the offensive end scoring the ball all day. He is a big time scorer with the ability to fill it up from all over the floor.
